How to download SketchBook

To download SketchBook, follow the instructions for the platform you need:

If you run into trouble while downloading/installing SketchBook, please check out the articles under Downloads and Installation or submit a ticket to support and let them know this is a download/install issue.


For the Windows or Mac desktop version

Tap here. It should automatically download.
Tap the SketchBook .exe or .dmg file, tap Run and follow the instructions. When you launch SketchBook, a dialog appears. Select either activate the trial or buy.


For the Mac App Store version

Go to the Mac App Store and download SketchBook.
When you launch SketchBook for the first time, in the screen that appears, tap the Activate 7 Day Free Trial button. Once your 7 days are up, the Mac App Store will charge you for a monthly subscription.


For iOS users

Go to the App Store, then search for and download Autodesk SketchBook. Tap Install. When you launch it, tap Hide UI in the SketchBook for mobile version, then Log in. In the window that appears, swipe up, then tap New to Autodesk? Create Account. Fill in your information, press Create Account, then Done. The Hello screen appears. Under SketchBook Subscription, if will says Free. This means you will have a subset of the SketchBook tools.

To get the Pro Tools (full-version of SketchBook), you have two options:

  • Buy the Pro Tools in-app (get this if you only use SketchBook on iOS)
  • Subscribe to SketchBook (get this if you will use SketchBook on iOS, Android, Windows, and/or Mac)

For iOS users who want SketchBook Motion

For Android users

Go to the Google Play Store, then search for and download SketchBook. Tap Install. When you launch SketchBook, tap Hide UI in the SketchBook for mobile version, then Log in.
